Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for a 13-week travel contract in Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The start date is July 13, 2026, and you will earn $2,377.08 weekly.

About the Role

You will provide care in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit serving pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients. This is a fast-paced environment with 10–15 admissions daily, 90–95% occupancy during the week, and an average length of stay of 2–3 days. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5–7 on night shifts. You will float to all inpatient units as needed and work every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN license and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Associate degree or certificate minimum; bachelor's degree preferred
• Reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Work Environment

You will use Epic EMR for charting, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps for medication administration. You must be able to multitask, prioritize patient care based on acuity, and work effectively as part of a team. Any color scrubs are permitted.
