Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 or 48 guaranteed weekly hours (must be specified on submission form)
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekend hours required every other weekend as needed by facility
• No call requirements
• May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs
• Patient ratios: 1:6-7 on night shift (ratios not guaranteed, consideration given based on circumstances)
• Work with 30-bed unit specializing in general surgery patients
• Care for surgical patients including GI, GU, plastics, and overflow orthopedic cases
• Utilize nursing process for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Work with equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, SCD machines, PCA pumps, low air loss mattresses, and remote telemetry monitors
• Document in EPIC EMR system
• Required: Current RN license eligible for Missouri licensure, BLS from AHA, minimum 1 year medical surgical inpatient experience
• Preferred: ACLS from AHA, TNCC
• Dress code: Black scrubs, Mercy M Wear only
• Night shift orientation conducted on day shift - must be available entire orientation week
• Must maintain patient rights, confidentiality, and work within Missouri Nurse Practice Act
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of shift, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
