Operating Room RN Job in State College, PA

Mount Nittany Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in State College, PA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 18, 2026, offering 40 hours per week at $2,482 weekly.

Shift and Schedule

• Work 5 days per week on rotating 8-hour shifts
• Choose from: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Weekend coverage and call are voluntary

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care aligned with AORN Standards and Recommended Practice for Perioperative Nursing
• Care for patients across the pediatric through geriatric age spectrum using the nursing process
• Develop and implement perioperative care plans in holding areas, operative suites, and post-operative settings
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures
• Monitor patient health status changes and direct appropriate care for patient safety
• Apply principles of surgical technique, electrical and chemical safety, laser safety, and proper positioning
• Document patient interactions and changes in care plans in accordance with facility standards
• Provide preoperative patient and family education

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (renewed every two years)
• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program
• Minimum 2 years prior Operating Room experience
• BSN preferred
• Must complete an in-house 6-month Operating Room course upon hire
