Description
Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
• 3x12 or 4x12 night shift schedule
• Every other weekend required with holiday coverage expected
• No on-call requirement
• May float between Adult and NICU units if candidate has NICU experience
• Treat patient age groups including neonates, infants, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform airway management including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal/suctioning, tracheostomy/suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene
• Administer aerosolized medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators including Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U
• Manage BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), trach collar, aerosol setups, metered dose inhalers, and nebulizers
• Comfortable drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases (ABGs) including umbilical blood gases
• Perform weaning from mechanical ventilation and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
• Assist in high-risk deliveries
• Collect sputum specimens
• Preferred skills include bronchoscopy, Inhaled Flolan, Nitric Oxide (INo), Bicarbonate, Ketamine, Mucomyst, and Theophylline
• Charting system: Cerner (required)
• Scrubs not provided; scrub color is ceil blue
• 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• ED experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, CRT, RRT, MD State License
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
