RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with 16-hour NBO (no back-to-back) policy
• Work every other or every third weekend depending on staffing and census
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• 24 months minimum experience in Med Surg/Med Surg Tele required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Care for all types of med surg patients including overflow of post-op surgical hips/knees
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 on a 24-bed unit
• Administer heparin drips
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must wear solid navy blue scrubs
• Skills checklist specific to med surg/medical surgical/med surg tele required
• Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required
• No blocked shifts policy
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager within 24 months preferred
• Department prefers candidates who can extend past initial 13-week contract
