CVOR Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Operating Room Technologist to join their surgical team in Rochester, NY. This is a 12-hour shift position with an 89-day duration, starting July 6, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide technical expertise in cardiac surgical procedures, including preparation and management of instruments, equipment, and supplies. You will work from the scrub position during operations, assisting the surgical team throughout complex cardiac cases. Your responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, proper handling of sharps, performing surgical counts per hospital policy, and managing solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of the registered nurse. You will also facilitate efficient room turnover between cases.

Patient Care Areas

You will support procedures including:

• Coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG)
• Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI)
• Ventricular assist devices (VAD)
• ECMO support
• Artificial heart procedures
• Heart transplants

Schedule & Requirements

You will work 36 or 48 hours per week on a DEN rotation schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as determined by unit needs. You must be able to scrub and circulate as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operating room
• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
• New York State Tech License
• BLS Certification from American Heart Association
• Operating room experience in level 1 trauma preferred

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,033.46.
