RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• PM shift schedule with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required - staff must work one summer and one winter holiday per assignment
• If one holiday falls in the assignment, expect to work it; if two holidays, expect to work one; if three, expect to work two
• Staff are assigned to groups for self-scheduling, with groups rotated every scheduling period (weekly)
• Position will require floating at times to cover staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates within 50 miles of facility are not accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• Preferred charting system experience: Meditech
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
• 32-bed medical/surgical unit focused on medical innovation, new technologies, and innovative nursing practice
• Team members are early adopters of new technology, new equipment, and nursing practice models
• Common patient diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, GI bleed, sepsis, COPD, wound care, diabetes management, anemia, UTI, and more
• Required skills include blood product administration, feeding tube care and management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, IV management, PCA, PICC line management, telemetry remote monitoring, and wound care
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
