CVOR Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, Wisconsin

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This is a 13-week travel contract with a start date of June 15, 2026.

Position Details

• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• On-call: 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, 1 backup per week
• Every 3rd–4th weekend and holiday rotation
• 30-minute response time to OR required; vehicle mandatory
• Assigned to 4–5 of 21 operating rooms per day, all specialties

Your Responsibilities

• Circulate in cardiovascular and general surgery cases, including heart surgeries and trauma
• Assist with intubations, fiber optic scopes, and sterile central line placement
• Support anesthesiologists with arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan Ganz catheters
• Perform IV starts, draw labs, and set up medication pumps
• Operate Belmont, Cell Saver, and Level 1 equipment

Qualifications Required

• RN with current Wisconsin license or compact license
• 3+ years operating room experience
• Anesthesia experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic charting system experience
• Cell Saver and Belmont equipment experience
• Strong OR/CVOR circulating skills
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing
• Prior conscious sedation experience preferred
• Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility
