Med Surg RN Job in Roanoke, VA

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical Surgical unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,123.

Schedule and Staffing

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 13-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract required
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Patient ratio of 1:6

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide acute care for adult patients including those with elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladders, cellulitis, and pediatric overflow
• Float within skillset as needed
• May be required to serve as charge nurse and to precept new staff
• Manage peripheral lines, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, and isolation precautions
• Work with Rapid Response and Code teams

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience
• EPIC proficiency (hard stop requirement)
• Proficiency in Med Surg care
• Charge experience preferred
