About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Med Surg Telemetry unit at MedStar Saint Marys Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,969.92.

Schedule and Orientation

  • 3x12 night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 6 shifts in 6 weeks with every-other-weekend requirements
  • 24-hour orientation provided

Patient Care

You will care for adult Med Surg Telemetry patients only—no pediatric patients. Your typical patient ratio is 1:5-6. You will manage patients with diabetes, congestive heart failure, infections, sepsis, COPD, general surgery cases, sickle cell crisis, GI bleeds, and observation patients.

Clinical Skills and Responsibilities

  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • IV management, accessing and managing ports, and central line care
  • BiPAP/CPAP management and high flow nasal cannula
  • Blood product administration and heparin protocols
  • Chest tube and surgical drain care
  • Tracheostomy care and feeding tube management
  • Wound care
  • Equipment operation including patient lifts, PCA pumps, telemetry monitors, and capnography

Requirements

  • Current Maryland license or compact license
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications (PALS not required)
  • Successful completion of Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
  • At least 1 completed travel assignment
  • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions

Support Services

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to assist with patient care.
