CVICU Registered Nurse Job in Morgantown, WV

Mon Health Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). You will care for cardiothoracic surgery patients and complex cardiac cases in a specialized ICU setting.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, covering weekdays and weekends
• Blocked schedules available
• 91-day assignment starting July 6, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

You will manage a patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, with potential for step-down level overflow patients. Your patient population includes adults and geriatric patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery (CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, carotid endarterectomies) as well as complicated cardiac cath lab patients, medical cardiology patients, STEMIs, cardiogenic shock patients, and post-code patients.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Direct fresh open-heart admissions from OR
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) management
• Pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Impella monitoring and CRRT
• Arterial line management
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Ventilator care for intubated patients
• Central line care and management
• Continuous IV sedation administration
• CVVHD/CRRT management
• IABP management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Cerner electronic health record system (preferred experience)

Required Certifications & Credentials

• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS (American Heart Association)
• WV or Compact License required

Additional Information

• You may occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
• Scrubs are not provided
