PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 48 hours per week guaranteed
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Weekend requirements include 3-4 Saturday/Sunday shifts, 2 Fridays, and 2 Mondays per 4-week schedule period
• Holiday requirements include one of: Black Friday or Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
• Self-scheduling through Kronos with block scheduling available
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Floating requirements apply - traveler will be first pulled off unit if needed, with rotational pull to floor assignment approximately 1 out of every 3 shifts
• Unit consists of 32 beds total: 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Stepdown 1:3 and Floor 1:5 or 1:6
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, and med-surg/hospitalist cases
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amiodarone, and dobutamine
• RT equipment includes nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and trach to vent
• Telemetry monitored by tele techs using Phillips monitoring system
• Charting system: EPIC
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission
