Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Expected to work 1 of 2 upcoming holidays and surrounding days
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA or ARC only)
• Epic charting experience required
• Patient ratios: 5 patients during days and weekends, 6 patients during nights
• Will float to all Med Surg floors and potentially rehabilitation
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Patient diagnoses include CHF exacerbations, respiratory illness, arrhythmias, general surgery, orthopedics, end-of-life care, COPD, and sepsis
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, central line care and management, wound care, tracheostomy care, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Occasional stable post open heart surgery patients transferred from ICU (typically day 4-5 post-op)
• Will float to floors that take stroke patients and peritoneal dialysis patients
• Special equipment includes Artisight Virtual Nurses and Virtual Sitters
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and radiology
• Previous charge experience preferred
