NICU RN Job in Odessa, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a Level III NICU at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 4x12 night shifts, paying $3,144.96 weekly.

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience (3 years preferred)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required; PALS preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

You will care for high-risk neonates with a patient ratio of 1:3 across day, night, and weekend shifts. You'll manage complex clinical skills including arterial lines, central line care, Bubble CPAP, high-frequency ventilation, mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, PEEP), IV vasopressors, chest tube management, UAC/UVC management, blood and blood product administration, neonatal dosage calculations, and therapeutic hypothermia protocols.

Scheduling and Support

The facility offers self-scheduling and will accommodate either 36 or 48 hours per week based on your preference. You'll have the opportunity to float to Pediatrics and Nursery as needed. Interdisciplinary support is available through respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, and unit secretaries.
