NICU RN Job in Miami, FL

You'll provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a critical-care setting at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital. This is a 13-week contract position with a start date of November 2, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts per week
• Guaranteed 36 hours weekly
• $1,915 per week
• Weekend requirement: most likely every other weekend (to be discussed during interview)
• Holiday scheduling possible, though travelers are rarely scheduled
• No on-call requirement
• Blocked scheduling available to discuss
• Maximum 7 days pre-approved time off (must be disclosed and approved before submission)

Your Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments, reassessments, and care planning
• Administer medications and manage documentation
• Provide patient and family education
• Perform neonatal feeding, bathing, diaper changes, IV starts, suctioning, repositioning, and specimen collection
• Respond to medical equipment alarms in a high-acuity environment
• Float to other units as needed
• Demonstrate strong critical-thinking, communication, time-management, and teamwork skills

Requirements

• Current RN license: active Florida license or active multistate eNLC compact license
• Minimum 2 years of NICU or pediatric critical care experience
• Relevant acute-care pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Travel experience not required if you have 3+ years of relevant experience
• First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of recent experience
• Cerner experience required—this is a hard requirement
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• NRP certification required within the facility's timeframe and maintained throughout assignment
• All licenses and certifications must remain active and in good standing
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work with blood, bodily fluids, latex, and PPE
