ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• ED Hold position with float requirement to Medical/Surgical Telemetry when not utilized in ED Holding
• 3 x 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirement
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department required
• Travel experience required
• California RN licensure required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Charting system: Epic
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Demonstrate understanding of evidence-based practice and knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacological implications, and regulatory issues
• Accurately and thoroughly document assessments and perform clinical procedures including IV, Foley, and dressings
• Provide effective patient and family education
• Maintain proficiency in telemonitoring, IV, ventilator, and safe medication administration
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Act as a patient advocate and role model safety behaviors
• Work independently and as part of the team
• Skills required include management of arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, central lines, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, ventilated patients, and procedural sedation
• Must be comfortable treating patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
