Physical Therapist Job in Highlands, NC

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist for a backfill position in our inpatient and outpatient services. You will work 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, for a 91-day assignment starting October 27, 2025.

Your Role:

• Float between acute/swing bed units, nursing home, and outpatient services as directed by the rehab manager
• Conduct physical therapy evaluations and establish individualized plans of care
• Provide direct patient treatment in patient rooms, hallways, outdoor areas, and the rehabilitation gym
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio
• Participate in rounds and care conferences as indicated
• Communicate regularly with the rehabilitation team regarding patient progress, equipment needs, and discharge planning
• Document patient care using Cerner and NetHealth systems

The Setting:

You will work with 24 acute/swing beds, 40 nursing home beds, and 10 skilled beds within our nursing home facility. Multiple gym facilities and standard rehabilitation equipment are available to support your clinical practice.

Requirements:

• Minimum three years of experience in a medical setting
• Hospital and/or nursing home setting experience required
• North Carolina Physical Therapy license
• Current CPR certification
