CVOR Technologist Surgical Tech Job in Bismarck, ND

CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Tech with CVOR experience for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work in a two-suite cardiothoracic operating room handling 1–3 cases per day.

Schedule & Call Duties

• Day shifts Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM (6:00 AM start for open heart case prep)
• Call coverage 3–4 times per week, 3:15 PM to 6:45 AM on weeknights
• Every other to every third weekend call, Friday 3:15 PM to Monday 6:45 AM
• 15-minute call response time required; 8-hour reprieve shifts provided post-call
• Willingness to work rotating holidays

Case Types & Clinical Scope

• Open heart procedures, CABG, valve repairs and replacements
• Thoracotomies, VATS, and vascular cases including AAA and carotid procedures
• ECMO and Impella 5.5 support; ION robotic cases
• First-scrub role with cross-training into general OR during lower CV volumes
• Float to floor as 1:1 sitter to supplement hours as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years CVOR experience including open hearts, CABG, and valve procedures
• BLS, CST or NCCT, and ND UAP certifications

Onboarding & Support

• 4–5 days unit-based orientation plus 2 buddy call shifts
• Scrubs provided by facility
• EPIC charting system
• Profile review and manager interview required
