Medical Assistant Job in Carbondale, IL

Memorial Hospital of Carbondale is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their pathology team. This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no call responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with gross descriptions and dissection of surgical tissues
• Submit specimens for histological and other laboratory testing
• Summarize patients' medical history
• Perform procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician
• Interact effectively with medical community, laboratory, and hospital staff

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Health Science or Pathology
• ASCP Certification
• Minimum 1 year technical experience in a healthcare setting

Physical requirements:

You must be able to perform intermittent hand manipulation and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. You will be expected to demonstrate standards of performance including respect, integrity, compassion, collaboration, stewardship, accountability, and quality in all interactions.

Assignment details:

• Weekly pay: $2,511.20
• Duration: 91 days
