Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as an RN in the 2C Observation Unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, a 22-bed medical observation unit serving patients with high turnover in a fast-paced environment. Your role involves managing patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 alongside a charge nurse, handling up to 16 discharges per day with frequent admissions and refills.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a medical observation setting with heavy telemetry monitoring managed by central monitoring system
• Perform your own EKGs and draw your own labs
• Manage heparin drips as primary titratable medication
• Float to medical surgical units as needed
• Collaborate with 2 CNAs when staffing allows

Schedule and Requirements:

• Work 3x12 night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirements
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
• 3-shift unit-specific orientation provided

Required and Recommended Certifications:

• BLS Certification (required)
• NIHSS (required)
• ACLS (highly recommended, not required)

Additional Details:

• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs (top and bottom) OR White top with Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white scrubs
• MEDITECH charting system
• No ventilator equipment in unit
• BSN not required
• Candidates must meet strict 75-mile radius requirement

This 119-day travel assignment begins May 11, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,102.40.
