Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekends required as scheduled
• Float Pool RNs will float between MedSurg/Tele and Stepdown units including MS Units, Step-down (IMCU/3W), IRU (Rehab), and ED Holding
• MedSurg units include 1W and 2E, each with 28-29 private beds
• Stepdown unit (3W) has 28 private beds
• MedSurg patient ratios are 1:6-7; Stepdown ratios are 1:4-5 (1:6 if MedSurg acuity)
• Every other weekend required; nights require Friday, Saturday, and Sunday coverage
• Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue; jackets if worn must also be navy blue
• MedSurg patients include post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and chemotherapy cases
• Stepdown patients are heavy cardiac including dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from ICU
• MedSurg drips include Heparin and MSO4 for comfort measures; no cardiac drips
• Stepdown requires ability to titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
• Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow ventilator support managed by respiratory therapy on both units
• Tele patients on MedSurg units are monitored remotely by monitor tech on 3rd floor; no bedside monitors
• Stepdown RNs must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Charting system: Epic
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
