About this role
You'll work as a registered nurse in a 22-bed Emergency Department at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning April 6, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) per week. Weekly pay is $1,708.20.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing patient ratios of 4:1 in a high-acuity setting
- Performing triage assessments and prioritization using ESI guidelines
- Conducting IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care
- Assisting with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response
- Providing moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion
- Caring for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients
- Managing trauma and cardiac alerts with experience in STEMI, stroke, and sepsis care
- Preparing and coordinating transport for higher levels of care
- Following isolation and infection control protocols
- Documenting and reassessing in fast-paced environments
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI
- Strong triage and critical thinking skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Bilingual ability (English/Spanish)
Schedule details:
- Two weekends per schedule required
- No on-call responsibilities
Additional requirements:
- Royal blue scrubs required
