Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU @ University of Virginia Medical Center

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - ICU Neuro</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work night shifts in a 12-bed critical care unit providing intensive management to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions<br>• Available for 36 or 48 hours per week scheduling<br>• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required<br>• 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends<br>• 24 hours of orientation provided<br>• Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice<br>• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (can submit pending)<br>• Epic charting system experience required<br>• 2 years of experience required<br>• BSN preferred<br>• Virginia license required (can submit with pending license but must have in-hand by Wednesday before start date)<br>• Nursys verification required for submittal<br>• Care for patients with central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and CNS infections<br>• Skills include care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and neuro intensive care<br>• Work with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations<br>• Up to 40 hours of requested time off guaranteed per 13-week contract<br>• References required for submission</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This academic medical center operates a specialized 12-bed neurological intensive care unit that provides comprehensive critical care services for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
