Medical Lab Technician Job in Winnebago, NE

Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for overnight laboratory operations. You will work a 7 on, 7 off schedule with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Wednesday through Tuesday during your assigned work week. Every other weekend and holidays falling within your scheduled week are part of your rotation. Overtime is available beyond 80 hours per pay period.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory analyses, tests, and procedures to support prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease
• Accession and order tests in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and process specimens with referral to reference laboratories
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment as needed
• Conduct specimen acquisition and routine phlebotomy
• Perform analytical testing across all laboratory sections
• Maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Adhere to sterilization and infection control procedures due to regular exposure to infectious specimens
• Manage workflow independently on overnight shifts, multitask effectively, and respond to codes and traumas

Qualifications Required:

• Associate's degree from an approved school of Medical Technology or Laboratory Science
• Certification or registration: MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), or CLT(NCA)
• Minimum one year of laboratory experience preferred
• Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices including infection control, chemical and biological hazards, and governmental regulatory standards
• Ability to work independently—this is essential for success in this overnight role
• Excellent customer service skills

This is a 112-day contract position starting September 16, 2026. You will earn $2,081 weekly. Independent work capability and adaptability to shift work are critical for this role.
