About this role

Bozeman Deaconess Hospital is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic. You will provide specialized high-risk obstetric ultrasound services, assisting MFM physicians in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of maternal and fetal conditions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing advanced OB ultrasound examinations, including fetal anatomy, growth, and well-being evaluations
  • Assisting MFM physicians with invasive obstetric procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
  • Selecting appropriate equipment and transducers, educating and positioning patients, and obtaining relevant health histories
  • Importing images and clinical data into Viewpoint and PACS systems with accurate patient record documentation
  • Identifying abnormal findings and obtaining additional images as directed by the MFM physician
  • Providing patient education and support before, during, and after procedures
  • Maintaining examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness, stocking of supplies, and readiness for procedures
  • Performing high-level disinfection of ultrasound transducers per infection control standards
  • Collaborating with MFM physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and departmental process improvements
  • Mentoring and supporting new sonographers and students in the MFM setting

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program through CAAHEP
  • ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (OB/GYN) certification
  • ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography (FE) registry certification
  • Must reside at least 90 miles away from the facility

Preferred: Two years of related work experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine or high-risk obstetrics setting.

This 91-day travel assignment offers an 8-hour shift with a weekly pay of $1,770. Schedule may require working beyond 40 hours per week, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required.
