Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Perform evaluations and administer respiratory care treatments in accordance with physician orders and protocols
• Educate patients with cardiopulmonary disabilities, injuries, and diseases
• Assemble, check, and maintain respiratory equipment, identifying and correcting malfunctions
• Conduct therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate spontaneous and artificial ventilation
• Maintain patient airways and remove bronchopulmonary secretions
• Monitor and evaluate patient response to respiratory care treatments
• Modify therapeutic procedures and recommend care plan modifications based on patient response
• Initiate and conduct respiratory care techniques in emergency settings
• Perform adult endotracheal intubation in code blue settings (with 2+ years critical care experience and completion of training)
• Work rotating weekends with possible on-call responsibilities
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS (AHA), NBRC, ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Illinois respiratory care license required
• Must have 2+ years RRT experience, adult critical care experience, emergency department experience, and neonatal/pediatrics experience
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must have experience with all patient populations
• Skills checklist current within 1 year required
• Must be non-local candidate (50-mile radius restriction applies)
