CNA Job in Altoona, PA

Join West Central — UPMC Altoona as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of RNs and LPNs, supporting residents across their daily needs in an acute care setting.

About the Role

• Work 3 days per week on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting, transporting, and ambulating
• Maintain safe, clean patient environments through safety checks, room organization, equipment cleaning, bed linen changes, and proper equipment storage
• Respond promptly to patient calls and requests
• Acquire and distribute supplies and equipment needed for patient care
• Deliver patient nourishments and assist with feeding; fill water pitchers and manage hydration support
• Perform routine monitoring tasks such as weights, vital signs, and intake/output documentation
• Observe and report changes in patient status to nursing staff in a timely manner
• Document care activities in the medical record according to facility procedures
• Follow all safety policies, standard precautions, and bloodborne pathogen exposure protocols
• Respond appropriately to emergent situations within the scope of the CNA role

Requirements

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances
• Minimum 2 years of CNA experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Assignment Details

This is a 41-week travel assignment beginning August 17, 2026. You will work a 3x12 rotating shift at an established acute care facility. Weekly pay is $1,368.
