Opportunity:

RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 8 hours guaranteed per day
• No weekend, on-call, holiday, or floating requirements
• BSN-RN and BLS required; OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of acute oncology experience required
• Outpatient and GI oncology experience preferred
• Prior nurse navigator or nurse coordinator experience preferred
• Serve as GI Oncology Nurse Navigator for newly diagnosed cancer patients, following patients from initial referral through the start of treatment
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments including MD visits, port placements, echos, and chemo cycles
• Review patient charts, determine and review necessary imaging, and identify gaps in documentation
• Provide support and coordinate care for patients who may see multiple providers in a single day
• Participate in tumor board, multi-disciplinary case management, and case conference coordination
• Serve as primary point of contact and patient liaison until patient is transitioned to clinic nurse for treatment
• Role does not involve direct patient care but focuses on coordinating care across providers
• Must be able to manage high volume and maintain an organized, fast-paced workflow
• Must be able to triage and delegate tasks as needed and use spreadsheets to track patients
• Epic access required
• Dress code: Navy scrubs or business casual
• Unit and department orientation: 1 to 2 weeks with patient coordinators and other navigators nearby for support
