CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 6, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM), totaling 36 hours weekly. Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Unit Details

• Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
• RN-only staffing model with no HUC or PCT support
• Documentation via Cerner
• Alternating weekend schedule required
• Potential for floating to other areas

Required Skills

• ICU experience mandatory
• Titration of vesicant medications
• Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience
• Telemetry interpretation
• Hemodynamic understanding
• PA catheter setup and interpretation

Advanced & Desired Skills

• IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience
• Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and TEE
• Chest tube insertion and maintenance familiarity

Unit Procedures

You may assist with or perform cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis.

Equipment

Ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment.

Dress Code

All Navy or Navy and White scrubs required. No pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs except when uniform is soiled during your shift.

No certifications required; CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications are appreciated.
