CVOR Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 4x10 shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:15 AM to 4:45 PM with rotating start times as needed
• On-call required: 3–4 weekday and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule, subject to change
• 40-minute turnaround time from call to clock-in; maximum 60 minutes from case request to OR entry
• Weekend coverage required per call policy
• Holiday shifts required as needed, discussed in advance
• Weekly pay: $2,989.15

Role Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
• Primary cases: CABG, mitral valve replacement, lung procedures
• Vascular procedures: open and endovascular repairs, carotid angioplasty, carotid artery stenting, AAA repair, femoral popliteal bypass grafts
• Transplant surgeries: liver, kidney, pancreas (heart and lung transplant experience required for night shift)
• Whipple (pancreatic) procedures
• Enter missing instruments into the CensiTrac system
• Float within service line as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years operating room experience; 1 year accepted if from a Level 1 Trauma Facility
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Navy scrubs required

Assignment Terms

• No more than 7 days of requested time off during the 91-day assignment
• No RTO (Return to Original) permitted during the first week
