PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule for a 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care with a typical ratio of 1:4 in a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment
• Care for post-operative CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, and arrhythmia patients
• Manage acute chest pain and MI patients
• Handle post-procedure cardiac catheterization, pacemaker, defibrillator, and ablation patients
• Care for CHF and medical/surgical overflow cases
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• May be placed on call during low census periods with 2-hour minimum call back

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC, PCU, or telemetry experience
• Proficiency with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• At least one completed travel assignment
• 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience
• Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Must pass EKG test during first week of employment

Additional Details:

• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement
• Must be located outside 50-mile radius of facility
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week

Compensation: $2,462.40 weekly
