PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a night shift position: 3x12 hour shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The assignment runs 91 days, beginning February 23, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting, preparing patients for procedures including Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Operating Room cases. On night shift, you'll work with a charge nurse, 6 other RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, and 1–2 sitters. Current patient ratios on nights are 1:6/7 per RN. You must commit to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift).

Clinical Environment

You'll use medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), and VC150s in every patient room. Documentation occurs in the Cerner EMR system. You'll access workstations on wheels and use Tap and Go computer access for efficiency. You may float to sister Medical-Surgical units including 3W, 5W, and K8.

Requirements and Preferences

• Current BLS certification required
• Medical Telemetry experience preferred
• Leadership experience and Charge Nurse experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• CMSRN certification encouraged

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy bottom, or all white.
