About this role

You'll work day shifts as an Anesthesia Technician at URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, supporting anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and fellow anesthesia technologists across a busy surgical environment. Your 89-week assignment runs from July 6, 2026, with an 8-hour daily schedule and on-call/callback requirements during holidays and weekends as unit needs dictate.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Prepare anesthesia equipment and assist with patient monitoring before and during surgical procedures
  • Set up medications, supplies, and sophisticated equipment including infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and anesthesia machines
  • Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
  • Operate cell-saver machines and track lab reports
  • Support difficult intubations and central line catheter placements
  • Participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases
  • Maintain cleanliness and availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies
  • Perform preventive equipment maintenance with advanced troubleshooting
  • Set up rooms between cases and maintain carts throughout the day
  • Provide full service setup at end of shift
  • Support ectopic procedures with proper out-of-OR equipment
  • Assist in developing and implementing in-service training programs
  • Provide backup to shift supervisor during absences

Requirements: BLS certification and two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician. Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized body is preferred.

You'll earn $1,315.60 per week as an Allied Health Professional in this role, where you'll apply technical expertise and patient care focus in a level-one trauma center setting.
