Respiratory Therapist Job in Saint Louis, MO

Join Barnes-Jewish Hospital Allied as a Respiratory Therapist in Saint Louis, Missouri. This 182-day travel position offers you the opportunity to work in a teaching hospital environment across ICUs and general floors, with occasional student precepting responsibilities.

Position Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (nights), with every third weekend rotation
• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Weekly pay: $2,137.10
• Start date: August 3, 2026
• Duration: 182 days
• Orientation: 72 hours

Your Responsibilities

• Manage mechanically ventilated patients across multiple service lines
• Perform airway management and medication administration
• Interpret arterial blood gases and manage ventilator settings
• Operate PB840 and PB980 ventilators, nebulizers, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula systems
• Provide care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases
• Use Epic charting system for documentation
• Be willing to work some holidays

Required Qualifications

• RRT credentials (required)
• Current BLS certification
• Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Ability to walk relatively long distances across a large campus

Strongly Preferred

• Active AARC membership
• Bachelor's degree or higher (or actively working toward degree)

Additional Information

• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed with restrictions
• Dress code: Medium to dark gray scrubs
• Travel assignments restricted to candidates outside 75-mile radius
