Operating Room RN Job in Fort Smith, AR

Mercy Hospital Fort Smith is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in the operating room, working within a surgical team to ensure safe, effective perioperative nursing. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and documentation throughout the surgical experience. You will anticipate team needs, prepare supplies according to surgeon preference cards, and communicate clearly with all members of the surgical team.

Schedule & Compensation

• 4x10 hour day shifts (no weekends, no call requirements)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• $2,336 weekly pay
• 91-day assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with hospital policies
• Complete patient assessments and develop collaborative care plans with the surgical team
• Assess and document the patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs
• Recognize potential problems and abnormal findings; communicate promptly to the surgical team
• Document nursing interventions, treatments, and patient responses
• Record perioperative data accurately and appropriately
• Assemble and organize supplies according to surgeon preference cards

Requirements

• Current Arkansas RN licensure
• Minimum 3+ years of nursing experience
• CVOR (Certified Vascular OR) and Vascular OR experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
• Black scrubs required
