Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract working night shifts or rotating schedule
• Every other holiday required
• 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:2, with possible 1:1 for high acuity patients
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Virginia nursing license required; pending license accepted at time of submission but must be in-hand the Wednesday before start date
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients including cardiac diagnoses such as DORV, TOF, HLHS, Norwood Sano/BT Shunt, TGA, and Heart TX, as well as medical cases including TBI, RSV, DKA, Trauma, Seizures, and post-operative cases
• Work with specialized equipment including ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Required skills include arterial line management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, IV vasopressors, CRRT, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and pediatric dosage calculations among others
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of contract
