Special Procedures Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking an Allied Health Professional to work as a Special Procedures Technologist in our Interventional Radiology department. This is a 6-month contract position ideal for local candidates.

Position Details:

• Work 5 days per week on 8-hour day shifts
• On-call, callback, and holiday coverage as needed per unit requirements
• Approximately 5–7 call shifts per 7-week block (2–4 will be weekend call)
• Weekly pay: $3,289
• Start date: June 22, 2026

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform interventional radiology procedures under radiologist supervision
• Select appropriate exposure factors, position patients, and produce high-quality radiologic images
• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations
• Operate all imaging equipment competently and report malfunctions to management
• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS
• Maintain medication security protocols
• Provide healthcare services to all age groups
• Answer technical telephone inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel
• Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner

Required Qualifications:

• Allied Health Professional credential or equivalent
• Two (2) years of relevant experience
• NYS Technician License (any Tech License accepted in NY state)
• NYS Radiologic Technology License or ability to obtain prior to start
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification from American Heart Association

Preferred:

• VIR (Vascular and Interventional Radiology) certification
