Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• Float pool position covering Zone 3, which includes OrthoColorado Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, and St. Anthony North Hospital - all within a 60-mile radius of Denver City Center
• Traveler must live within 60 miles of each facility within the zone to ensure floating is feasible
• No home base facility - must be prepared to float throughout the full 60-mile zone
• Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and may follow one of two formats: scheduled at a single facility for the week (Option A) or Just-In-Time (JIT) assignment 1-2 hours before shift start via call (Option B)
• Float assignments may include MS-Tele, PCU/Stepdown, and ICU (low acuity holds based on skillset)
• Units covered include General MS-Tele and various specialties: Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Designated charge nurse on each unit who typically does not take a patient assignment
• Must be comfortable titrating Heparin drips
• RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP present on unit
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience required; prior neuro experience preferred
• 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor upon start
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color scrubs permitted
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
