PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Day and night rotation schedule working 36 hours per week
• Patient ratios: Days 1:3, Nights 1:4-5 depending on acuity
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience required
• Care for cardiology, electrophysiology, and cardiac surgical patients in a 48-bed step-down unit
• Manage cardiothoracic surgical patients pre and post-operatively, CHF, telemetry, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and temporary pacers
• MedSurg responsibilities include chest tubes, drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, and central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
• Stepdown responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring, invasive BP monitoring through arterial lines, drips such as Nitro, Primacor, dobutamine, and dopamine, Bi-PAP/C-PAP, low dose pressors, vasoactive medications, inotropes, trachs, complex wounds, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, external pacers, epicardial wires, and TR bands
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• NH RN License or Compact License required with proof of state residency
