Med Surg RN Job in Cape Girardeau, MO

Mercy Hospital Southeast is hiring a travel RN for the Clinical Decision Unit on the night shift. This is a 91-day contract running 3x12 nights at $1,971 per week with 36 guaranteed hours weekly.

Role Overview: You will coordinate, plan, direct, and implement the nursing process in a medical-surgical setting. This unit processes a high volume of admissions and observation patients, with a patient ratio of 1:4–6 on an 8-bed unit. You will care for typical observation and admission patients in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Time Off:

• Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week
• Alternating weekend schedule, with expectation of every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) unless otherwise approved
• No on-call requirements
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13-week period can be automatically approved
• Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)

Clinical Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience with strong Med Surg background
• BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Float to any inpatient unit as needed (customary practice)
• EPIC electronic medical records experience highly preferred

Additional Information:

• Black scrubs required
• This is not an ER position
• Contract duration: 91 days
