About this role
St Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work four 10-hour shifts per week on a flexible night schedule (8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Tuesday through Friday) in an acute care setting with no on-call responsibilities.
Your Role
You will perform head and neck, whole body, and procedural ultrasound studies in a 4-room department with two outpatient and two inpatient rooms. The department averages 30–40 scans per 10-hour shift across 4 technologists. You will not perform MSK or vascular imaging, and no IV starts are required. You will use EPIC for charting and McKesson PACS for imaging systems, operating GE and Philips ultrasound equipment alongside an in-house radiologist and lead technician.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) credential via ARDMS
- RDMS-AB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen) credential via ARDMS
- Demonstrated experience with head and neck scans and body scanning
- OB certification is helpful but not required
What to Expect
Department-specific orientation takes approximately 1–2 weeks depending on your experience level. Light blue scrubs are required; the facility will provide them or you may bring your own. The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.
Assignment Details
