Medical Technologist Job in Berkeley, CA

Sutter Health Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Ashby is seeking a Medical Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 5x8 days with flexible shift hours of 8 or 10 hours per shift, with weekend coverage as needed by the unit.

About the Role

As a Clinical Lab Scientist, you will produce accurate laboratory test results following established procedures and meeting designated turnaround times. You will perform required calibrations, daily and periodic preventive maintenance, and quality control procedures per standard operating procedures. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving problems related to testing, including QC out of range, inappropriate specimens, and reagent or instrument issues.

You will process and handle specimens, order required tests, and review quality control results and quality assurance reports. You will follow up on out-of-range results and perform efficiency testing and evaluation of new products or procedures. Additional duties include maintaining appropriate supply levels, notifying your supervisor of supply problems, and orienting new employees in job-specific tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid California CLS license required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required
• Travel healthcare experience required
• 40 orientation hours required

You will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care considerations for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
