Med Surg RN Job in Lexington, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking an RN for a Med Surg position in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a travel nursing role with an 89-day duration, beginning June 29, 2026.

Shift and Schedule:

• 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Weekly pay: $2,196.47

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Develop problem lists and prioritize patient needs based on inter-professional team input
• Design and implement patient care interventions relevant to culture and age
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Delegate tasks and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care
• Identify and address patient educational needs according to comprehension level
• Facilitate the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner
• Provide input into patient and nurse assignments considering staffing and patient acuity
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Participate in unit-based activities supporting organizational values
• Contribute to department quality improvement activities and core measures
• Provide patient and family-centered education and care coordination

You will implement professional nursing practice centered on patient-centered care while working collaboratively within the Baptist Healthcare System team.
