RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Choice of 3x12 or 4x12 night shift schedules available
• 36 or 48 hour contract options with 36 hours guaranteed
• Every other weekend required, weekday shifts available
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Float within scope to meet facility needs
• 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required (must be American Heart Association)
• WV or Compact RN license required (pending license acceptable)
• First time travelers accepted
• 16-hour orientation held every other Thursday
• Care for patients with CVA, TBI, epidural and subdural hematoma, seizure disorders, and spinal cord injuries
• Work with Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) with 24/7 EEG leads
• Handle lumbar drains and drips including heparin and some cardiac medications
• Use Cerner charting system
• Work on 26-bed unit with telemetry and remote monitoring
• Scrub color: Royal Blue or White
• Must live greater than 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1st - March 31st) unless medical exemption provided
• Complete non-billable modules prior to start (average 2-6 hours)
