Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in Medical Surgery Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Day/Evening patient ratios: 5:1 (stretch to 6-7), Night ratios: 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 if staff calls in)
• 20-bed unit with 4-hour orientation period
• Required to float to MS, ICU, and ED units as needed
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (EOW)
• No on-call requirements
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• New York license required in hand to submit
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Must be proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response team activation and peripheral line care/management
• Knowledge of non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Work with special equipment including Hoyer lifts
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• Primary patient diagnoses include cardiac and stroke patients
• PCT support available for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• Maximum 10 days RTO allowed, no holiday RTO permitted
• Candidates within 75 miles of facility not accepted
• Pre-start modules required (billable up to 5 hours)
