NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with weekends as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• No guaranteed block scheduling - cannot work 6 shifts in a row
• Float to all St. Luke's Treasure Valley Sites (Meridian, Nampa, Boise) in primary skill set or as a sitter
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience
• Level II NICU unit caring for patients 32 weeks and greater
• Common diagnoses include respiratory distress, feeders and growers, hypoglycemia, and NAS scoring/opioid withdrawal
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3
• Must be able to attend deliveries, stabilize newborns, perform "eyes & thighs" and 2-hour assessments
• Must have experience attending C-sections as delivery nurse - NICU RNs attend ALL C-sections including scheduled, urgent, and emergent
• Background in mother-baby preferred as NICU nurse may care for NICU baby and mom, and another baby
• NICU CPAP equipment used; ventilator patients transferred to Level III NICU
• Centralized continuous monitoring system utilized
• Charting system: EPIC
• 3 days of unit-specific orientation provided
• Hospital-issued scrubs required - must be changed into and out of at the beginning and end of each shift
• No fingernail lacquer policy - acrylic or gel nails are not permitted in the department
• Travel duos will need 2 separate vehicles as staff may be at different sites or float during a shift
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE
