Interventional Radiology RN Job in Charleston, SC

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology at MUSC Health Charleston, serving a diverse patient population ranging from neonates through geriatric adults. This 91-day travel assignment runs on a 4×10 schedule (7:30 AM to 6:00 PM), with the option to work rotating 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM).

Your Role

You'll manage approximately 30 patient visits daily across five procedure rooms, maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio. Your responsibilities include circulating for interventional procedures, providing moderate sedation support, and performing vascular interventions for both pediatric and adult patients. You may float between two downtown locations—Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower, which are 10 minutes apart—with weekly rotation assignments to meet facility needs and your scope of practice.

Scheduling & On-Call

On-call coverage is required with rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays. You must be able to respond within 30 minutes for VIR trauma activations. Expect 2 weekend call shifts per 3-month contract period.

Experience & Certifications Required

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Background in ER, trauma, ICU, critical care, or procedural nursing
• Moderate sedation certification
• Interventional cardiac cath lab skills
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Active South Carolina or Compact State Nursing License
• Pediatric and adult vascular IR experience highly preferred

What You'll Need

Epic charting proficiency is required. Your agency will provide your radiation badge prior to start. The facility supplies scrubs and offers free parking for nights and weekends via on-call parking pass.
