RN - Infusion

Job Details:

• Assess patient condition before, during, and after infusion treatments
• Review medical history, laboratory results, and treatment orders prior to administration
• Monitor vital signs and patient response throughout treatment
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other IV and injectable medications
• Access and manage vascular devices including ports, PICC lines, and central lines
• Follow strict protocols for safe handling of hazardous drugs
• Ensure accurate dosage calculations and infusion rates
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications such as allergic reactions or extravasation
• Provide emergency intervention when needed
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and symptom management
• Provide guidance on infection prevention and self-care during treatment
• Support patients emotionally throughout the therapy process
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
• Document treatment administration, patient responses, and side effects in electronic medical records
• Active Wisconsin RN license required
• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing required (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 1 month of hire
• ACLS required or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Current ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Strong IV therapy and vascular access management skills required
• Critical thinking and rapid response capabilities required
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy essential
