About this role
CHI Health St Francis is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 16-bed Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU. You will work the night shift (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM) on a 3x12 schedule with every other weekend requirement and holiday shifts as needed.
Your Role:
- Care for patients ages young adults through geriatrics with diagnoses including sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, and DKA
- Manage 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios, with occasional 1:1 assignments for high-acuity patients
- Titrate critical drips: sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin
- Operate specialized equipment including Gaymar Hypothermia, Arrow Balloon Pump, Camino Neuro monitoring, CRRT, Impella, EVDs, and Lumbar drains
- Read and interpret telemetry strips
- Float primarily to PCU; may be called to other hospital areas as needed
- Chart using the EPIC system
- Serve a culturally diverse patient population, including non-English speaking patients
Requirements:
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Must pass an open-book exam on Friday during orientation with a 90% or higher score
- Must live outside the 50-mile radius (driver's license required for verification)
- Cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Artificial nails prohibited; refusal to remove results in contract termination
You will receive 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 17, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,547. You must be ready to ask questions, seek resources, and learn new procedures in a fast-paced critical care environment.
