Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available for both days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Night shift position with weekends as scheduled
• Every-other-weekend requirement, Saturday and Sunday for both days and nights
• Work within a float pool covering multiple units including 6N (36 beds), 7N (29 beds), 4N (36 beds), 5S (36 beds), 6S (36 beds), and Critical Care (20 beds)
• Report to the clinical coordinator's office prior to shift start time for unit assignment
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is primarily 1:5-6 on most units for both days and nights, with occasional ratios of 1:7 toward end of shift
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must take and pass a cardiac rhythm exam upon start
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips on Phillips telemetry monitors
• Will not be required to titrate drips
• CPAP and BiPap present on units, managed by respiratory therapy
• CNAs available on all units
• Charge nurse available on every unit; day charge does not take patients, night charge does take patients
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology
• Will be assigned basic telemetry patients within scope of practice
• 1-2 orientation shifts provided with a preceptor
• Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
• Charting system: EPIC
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius and provide a copy of an unexpired driver's license with submission
